A non-stoppable approach

15th July 2019, Amsterdam

Dear PerlCon attendees and the whole Perl 5 and Perl 6 community,

The annual European Perl 5 and Perl 6 conference is approaching, and it is only two weeks left before the event week in August. We are happy to inform you that the final preparations are running smoothly, and we have seen a rapidly increasing interest in our event during the last days.

In this issue:

1. Tickets

We have sent out the conference tickets and the hotel vouchers to all participants. Please carefully check them and let us know asap if you need any changes. If you did not receive the email, please also let us know. You can also see the tickets at ‘My PerCon’ on our web site. It is still possible to buy your ticket if you don‘t have one.

2. Extra programme

Before and during the conference, there are few events that we are planning at our venue, Raddisson Blu Daugava hotel.

The events may be attendeed by everyone, but you pay for your beer yourself. If your company would like to sponsor any of these events, let us know.

We ask you to indicate your attendance to these events for allowing us better planning. We sent the link to the form by email, but you can also find the form and your answers at ‘My PerlCon’ in the ‘My tickets’ section.

Also, don‘t forget about a River Cruise at the end of the last day of the conference.

3. Schedule

We have announced our second-day keynote speaker, Elizabeth Mattijsen. The theme of her talk will be known a bit later, so stay tuned.

We also shuffled the rest of the schedule to distribute the talks more uniformly. If you are a speaker, please re-check the day and time of your talk.

At the end of each of the three conference days, we have a session of 5-minute lightning talks. You are invited to submit the talk now.

4. Sponsors

We are happy to announce that Booking.com became our Silver sponsor. Booking.com is one of the largest travel e-commerce companies in the world. Part of Booking Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: BKNG), Booking.com now employs more than 17,000 employees in 198 offices in 70 countries worldwide. The company has done a lot for supporting Perl events.

Let us also remind you about our gold sponsor, cPanel, and you have an excellent opportunity to meet their representatives in person during the conference.

If your company would like to sponsor PerlCon, please let us know asap. Our current open positions are sponsoring coffee breaks, speaker lunches, the pre-conference meetings, and beer party.
